Too Cool… Blog Posting with Word 2007

by Aaron D-H 30. January 2009 06:08

Well today I decided to try out the cool word 2007 feature for posting to my new sharepoint blog. If this works it will be total easy for me to keep my blog up-to-date and spelled correctly! It's the spelling part that is always the bigest hurtle for geeks like me. And look at that I even used the "G" word! Ok here it goes… If all goes well, and obviously if your reading this post, it has, I've just edited and posted my first blog entry right from word. Too cool…

So this is what I did:

  1. Step one was to open a new blog posting. (Press the office button, then select and press New).

The new docoument dialog will appear (like the picture below). Select "New blog post" and press the "Create" button.

If you don't have a blog account registered, and I didn't, the "Register a Blog Account" dialog box will be shown. Press the "Register Now" button.

The "New Blog Account dialog will be shown.

Select "SharePoint blog" from the drop-down list and press the "Next" button.

The following dialog box may be displayed a few times… (Just press the "Ok" button).

If all goes well, you should see the "Account registration successful" dialog:

Now just create your blog posting as in Word 2007, and when you're ready to post just press the "Publish" button, and Word will take care of the rest. Too cool…
